Hi, thanks for the video. I am looking to plug in two desk usb-powered lamps that , so for that I will go with the powered USB hub , and I understand that beacuse it is socket powered it will deliver equal power to all (4) ports and is not limited in any way ?
All USB Hubs i had tested had a really big problem with power, also if Hub has extra power from wall.
1.- Connect a USB HDD mechanical and wait till it is accesible
2.- Connect another USB HDD mechanical and all previous USB HDD connected loose power during an instant.
That makes USB Hubs unusable for USB HDD (mechanical), since they loose power while another one is connected.
Imagine that happening while hot replacing a failed HDD on a USB RAID configuration, all disks loose power and all disk on the RAID are marked as BAD.
If not RAID it is also a problem, transfers in progress get interrupted.
And also Worst, with some USB SSD (and also some USB NVMe) they get damaged in such way that they get not be reconogized again (permane t damaged) because sudden power loose.
I can not find any review/test about this and i am getting mad to find a USB 3.x HUB with at least 4 ports (better if each port has its own switch to put that port ON/OFF).
Any help is wellcome.
Note: USB A type connectors and better if 10gbps.
I have a few things that need to be connected, would the powered hub be sufficient enough to handle all of my devices?
if i want connect a mouse and a wireless keyboard with its Dongle its good i buy anker. because the power consumption of mouse and keyboard not too much .
Can you use an external webcam with these?
Thanks sjr, this is just what I needed.
I think i hear a bit of a Jamaican accent. You a Yardman?
I am kinda terrified to connect a powered usb hub to any of my machines anymore after a reputable one I purchased feeded back power to the motherboard and fried all the usb 3.0 and 2.0 ports on my motherboard. Had to replace the whole board to fix it. It was on a Asrock Taichi with a Amd Ryzen 7 5900x machine. Do you know if the hubs you like have any form of power feedback protection?
Those things don’t work with external hard drives greater than 1 tb, powered or not
Your timing is perfect! I was in the market for a hub. Thanks,Chard.
Yeah, using a hard drive on an android box is hard on the box. I ruined one. I now use a powered USB hub on the new box.
Can 3.0 work on 2.0 usb port with the help of hub
As my pc have only 2.0 port?
Many thanks Chard! I actually do have other pc devices from Anker and Sabrent and like them both!
life saver
Dear Sir,Thanks for the great guidance . Sir,I have 2 Questions :
1. If I Use Samsung Galaxy 45 Watts Charger to give external power on 100 Watts USB Hub, will it work smoothly, and with out any problem ?
2. If external power is needed for USB Hub,which is unpowered , Can I give Charge to it ,with my Mobile /Tablet charger itself,to which that hub is connected ? Thanks for expected reply
will the Non power model supports and RGB keyboard and RGB mouse as well as a RGB usb gaming headphones?
Thank you!
You explanation is what I was looking for.
i noticed the unpowered hub had no switches.if i was only going to have only one thing on at a time a unpowered hub with switches would be ok. i that correct.
Nice explanation–clear, no fuss, and simple enough even for me! Thank youuuu!
Good explanations. Nice.
Can i use unpowered usb hub to connect the keyboard and mouse at the same to my laptop?
