I just found your channel and you are now on my daily watchlist. Years ago, my other YouTubers convinced me to go with SmartThings (no regrets). After my purchase and setup, they switched to Home Assistant 😖. I have 3 Pis that I could use for Home Assistant but I’ll stay with SmartThings. I’m looking forward to your future postings. Thanks!!!!

why do all the reviews for the zigbee dongle say its no longer supported or stopped working after a couple months….does anyone know of a zigbee dongle that actually supported for more than a year noticing that the biggest problem is finding a stable usb hub that is getting constant updates….things like this make zigbee rough to adopt for most people.

@yoyoTechKnows do the third reality buttons work with the Amazon echo 4th generation that have a built in zigbee hub?

Very interesting stuff, Thanks for the clear explanation. Looking forward to your LED vid(s).

Video idea – there are lots of videos on HA but nothing end to end for a typical setup. Eg 4 bed house, lights, blinds, fans, heating, solar, av, cameras, security, with home assistant. Ie how does someone go from not having used home assistant to a full setup with all of the common things most people would want. It would be a cool videos series.

The video fade in effect on each camera change is very distracting. The information in the video was good!

Wow, I’ve been searching for a solution to a problem I have: I want to turn on my Kasa smart switches that control my ceiling fans when the AC goes off, but I haven’t been able to find anything. Thanks to you, I just discovered the vibration sensor. I’m hoping this will be enough to detect the vibration of my air handler’s fan when it turns on, and then send a signal to turn on all my switches. Thanks so much!

Some cool stuff, interesting about you wanting plugged in PIR, In my experience have found that PIR and contact sensors last for an eternity on battery.

I have the sonoff temp gauge and it’s offline most of the time. In both the smart life and tuya app you can’t see anything, such as the history or last measurement, when it’s offline. It also is locked to Celsius in the app (the hardware is F/C selectable and updates measurements relatively fast, but it’s expensive when the smart isn’t very smart.). I’m not sure if I’m missing something to make the device usable between zigbee updates.

I can’t even get home assistant up and running

I thought Hive stopped selling in US. Are these sensors supported by them or they work in HA but SOL if there is hardware issue?

You need to remove that dark transition, I couldn’t watch the video through

The real test is what works with Matter-zigbee bridges like Hue Bridge for lights, or Third Realities Smart Bridge MZ1 for local control without any subscriptions or cloud work arounds.
